Overview

This course will give delegates the opportunity to gain knowledge of why catheters and stomas are used, how to support service users who have these appliances and maintain good infection control.

During the course the learner will explore the different types of catheters that may be used, how to monitor output and recognise potential issues. The learners will also understand the different types of stoma, why a stoma is formed and how to monitor the site for any issues, including supporting the service user to apply their own appliance if possible.

This half day course is for anyone who wishes to gain a better understanding of incontinence care.
