Social Enterprise Kent (SEK) delivers high quality, free Infection Prevention training courses to Small and Micro sized businesses, Sole Traders and Not for Profit organisations. The objective of the 3-hour course is to promote safe practice in the workplace by raising awareness and identifying effective methods of infection control including COVID-19. We will guide you through the Risk Assessment process. 

As an organisation lead or business owner, it’s your legal duty to:

Ensure a safe place of work.
Provide safe and tested equipment.
Provide information, training, instruction and supervision.
Complete risk assessments.

Full Details

Kent County Council’s (KCC) are keen to support organisations within the KCC area reopen and continue operating in a way that is safe for themselves, their staff and their customers in relation to infection prevention including COVID-19.

Although the country has now moved to Step 4 of the government’s roadmap to recovery, the new COVID-19 variant (known as Delta) is continuing to spread more easily than the other variants. With that in mind it is still vitally important that organisations continue to deliver their services in a way that helps prevent further outbreaks.

The aim of the COVID-19 Safe Advice and Training for Small and Micro Businesses and Not for Profit Organisations is to promote safe practice in the workplace by raising awareness and identifying effective methods of infection control along with assessing risk.

 

Course Syllabus

-          Legal regulations and responsibilities

-          Risk factors for infection

-          A look at the chain of infection and transmission

-          How to minimalise infection risks

-          Why a risk assessment is essential

-          How to complete a risk assessment

 

Eligibility

To qualify for the free place(s) you will need to be a Small or Micro Business as defined by Companies House. A Sole Trader with a UTR number. Or a Not for Profit organisations that is incorporated. This covers Charitable Companies, Community Interest Companies (CIC) and Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), must be registered on either Companies House or the Charities Commission with your registered location in the geographical area of Kent County Council (KCC) however if registered outside of KCC you may receive free training may be permissible if they can provide evidence proving your primary area of delivery is within KCC geographical area. Each organisation will also need to complete and return their Risk Assessment within 7 working days of their training session (one risk assessment required per organisation).

 

After Completion

Once we have registered your completed risk assessment, you will receive a COVID-19 Safe Advice and Training for Small and Micro Business and Not for Profit Organisations pack containing your certification of training, a booklet of useful information which contains useful links to free resources and a selection of posters to help keep you, your staff and customers safe.
