Personal Healthcare Budget explained

A personal budget is the amount of money your local council will pay towards any social care and support your need (or the need of the cared-for individual). The amount of money in your personal budget is decided by your local council after a needs assessment to work out: what kind of care and support you need. how much it will cost.

How does it work? A PHB is based around the care and support plan, which identifies health and wellbeing goals. This plan will be developed by the individual receiving funding, in collaboration with the local NHS team, to set out how the budget will be spent to fulfil these goals.

Personal budgets give you the choice to choose what support you wish to have. It is the total amount you receive for your care and support. You will be given an annual personal budget allocation following the assessment. You spend your direct payments budget to meet your agreed outcomes stated in your care planning.

INDVIVIDUAL EMPLOYER FUNDING

The Individual Employer Fund offers invaluable training support for those managing their own care needs through personal assistants. However, as the budget is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage submitting applications as soon as possible before the March 15th 2024 deadline. To qualify, applicants' care must have some funding from a different source other than/in addition to the Personal Health Budget. The funding reimburses training costs for developing essential skills. Any care with mixed funding sources will meet eligibility provided the training starts before April 30th, 2024. As we cannot directly submit requests, interested parties should contact our team to discuss specifics, check if slots remain, and be empowered to file claims themselves. Act quickly to access this amazing opportunity!
