Safeguarding Level 4

Overview

This course is essential for anyone who works with children, young people and adults at risk of harm and may be involved in the protection process at a higher level. You will build on the knowledge you already have and prepare you for being a Safeguarding Lead (for both Children and Adults).

The two-day Safeguarding Level 4 course will supplement knowledge gained from previous courses.

It is an advanced safeguarding training course covering Level 4 knowledge, skills, and competencies through a variety of mediums such as group work, discussion, question & answer, and the presentation of key information.

The course covers:

• Safeguarding Lead and responsibilities
• Legislation and guidance
• Steps to ensure safety and welfare
• Barriers to disclosure
• Blocks to staff reporting
• Making appropriate decisions
• What happens after safeguarding referral
• Issues with recording and sharing of information
• The emotional aspect of safeguarding and support networks
• The main areas of your organisations policies and procedures
